Leah Strader

Leah Strader is a Senior Underwriting Specialist at Sovereign Insurance. With over 34 years of industry experience, Leah has gained valuable experience and insight.

She has collaborated with many industry leaders as the President of the Insurance Institute for Southern Alberta over a period of several years. She also worked closely with Provincial Regulators to release the SPF 9 for Transportation Network Companies, the first new auto policy form in decades.

Along the way, Leah has developed a true passion for teaching. She values imparting her knowledge and experience to those new to the industry as well as those professionals looking to further their own knowledge base through CIP courses and Seminar facilitation.

Leah attained her FCIP designation with a Risk Management major in 2002, along with her CRM. She completed and helped pilot the Instructor Certification Program with the Insurance Institute of Canada in 2013. Leah's achievements also included The Most Deserving Student with a Risk Management Major award in 2002, The Instructor of the Year award in 2005, The Award of Merit from the Insurance Institute of Canada, Board of Governors in 2012 as well as an Instructor Milestone Award in 2015.

When Leah isn't consulting with colleagues and other industry professionals, she enjoys travelling, relaxing at her trailer in Sundre, arts and crafts and spending quality time with family and friends, including her 3 fur babies, Lily, Josie and Kyley.
