Tracy Stephen is the AVP of the Human Resources and Corporate Administration teams at Sovereign Insurance. Tracy has over 17 years of leadership experience and has specialized in HR for the past 12. She has a passion for leadership and believes in building strong and genuine working relationships, developing others and partnering with the business to support the execution of strategic results. Her teams would describe her as honest, collaborate, supportive, optimistic and passionate about leveraging team strengths while challenging the status quo. She has a keen interest in facilitation, enjoys leading groups, and tends to gravitate towards team leadership in both her personal and work life.
Prior to Sovereign, Tracy led HR teams with Brookfield Residential, CEDA and before that had a management career in the food and beverage industry. Over her career she has led the development and implementation of several talent related programs within Canada and the US, such as Mentorship, Coaching, and various Leadership Development programs and courses.
Her professional development ranges from education in Business Management to Strategic Human Resources Management and she holds multiple certifications such as being a certified DDI and DiSC facilitator. She’s also a member of multiple HR associations.
Based in Calgary, she enjoys volunteering and spending time with family, friends and her two stepchildren. She’s also enjoys travelling and trying new restaurants.
