Josh Armstrong

Josh Armstrong is a Senior Underwriter at Sovereign Insurance.

Josh has a combined 20 years of commercial insurance experience. Prior to joining Sovereign, he spent a decade of his career as a Broker working directly with the end-consumer. His previous underwriting background includes senior positions with Dominion of Canada, Intact as well as a role with the Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company of Canada, where he developed engineering-based equipment breakdown solutions.

Josh believes in a collaborative approach within his underwriting and business development role, which is one of the main reasons why he enjoys working with the exceptionally qualified and experienced team at Sovereign. He has a particular interest in business development and continuing education within the industry, as that allows him to keep on top of the new and emerging trends that are not only interesting but allow him to assist Brokers with new and successful strategies.

Josh is a graduate of the Business Insurance Program at Fanshawe College and has completed his CIP designation. He has also studied in the field of Robotic & Electrical Engineering.

Josh and his wife Katie are kept busy with their three boys, especially between their boys’ busy sports and music schedules. He and his family love travelling around their beautiful province and spending time at the beach within Nova Scotia and at his parents’ home in Florida.
