Please read the following important message regarding changes to Boilers and Pressure Vessels inspections in Quebec.

At Sovereign, we’re diligently monitoring the impacts of COVID-19 to our industry practices and are committed to sharing relevant information with our partners. We’re reaching out to let you know we’ve been informed that the Régie du bâtiment Québec (RBQ) have implemented a temporary policy change in response to the COVID-19 situation. Those changes include:

  • The RBQ will continue its inspection services in cases of emergencies or complaints only. No inspections are being performed in care or health facilities.

  • The RBQ is putting a hold on all other inspection services (first install, commissioning, periodics).

  • The RBQ will not be issuing violations to owner-users who missed their periodic inspection intervals and will not take action on the third notices received from the periodic inspection companies unless the situation presents an immediate danger (safety hazard) to the public.

Thank you for your continued patience, understanding and trust in Sovereign as the situation related to COVID-19 remains fluid.
