Portia Myrvang

Portia joined the Sovereign Team in June 2018 as a Property and Casualty Specialist in Vancouver. With over 15 years experience in the insurance industry, Portia has held various commercial underwriting positions throughout her career including roles at Dominion of Canada (Travelers), AXA (Intact) and CNA. She has expertise in facilitating Global Admitted placements for large multinational accounts, along with extensive underwriting knowledge in the Manufacturing and Construction industries.

In her role as Underwriting Specialist at Sovereign, Portia works closely with the Vancouver team to provide technical guidance and mentorship. She has in depth knowledge into the challenges of the local market. Portia is focused on delivering innovative insurance solutions for Sovereign's partner brokers.

Portia has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia and holds a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.

Outside of work hours, you'll often find Portia running around the Stanley Park seawall, climbing the Grouse Grind or researching her next vacation destination.
